I have always been interested in the "odd" and "weird" things that people do. For some reason weird things fascinate me. I am human though. It is normal right?  I recently had the chance to work with Ripley's Believe It Or Not! on reviewing one of their books from Ripley Publishing. I honestly have to say that it sucked me in for hours and I am still not finished looking at the odd, the weird and the down right CRAZY. Dare To Look! is the 10th book in the bestselling Ripley’s Believe It or Not! annual series.
Full of incredible facts, crazy stories, amazing pictures, lists and interviews, this fantastic book also comes with bonus hidden content accessible using the Ripley’s app. I had the chance to review it and I love it! Ripley’s fans of all ages will enjoy learning about perilous near-miss accidents, extreme daredevils, unbelievable artwork, fantastic sports feats, and much more! Even the most reluctant readers will find themselves captivated. Examples of some of the curiosities contained within include:
  • Kelvin Mercado’s record breaking feat of pinning 161 clothes pegs to his face
  • The biggest collection of dummies that readers will ever see – it’s an eight-page gatefold on the history of ventriloquists!
  • Artist Ian Cook’s remarkable paintings made with remote control cars
  • Farmer Hung and his traffic-stopping herd of 5,000 ducks
  • Oscar the incredible traveling dog that has traveled to over 30 countries in the past three years
Some pages that interested me can be featured below! This is just a sneak peek of what it has to offer!
This book has thousands of true-yet-unbelievable facts and stories, as well as hundreds of full-color photos! Do you have a thrill seeker in your family? A friend that loves reading about the odd, weird and fascinating? This will make the PERFECT gift this holiday season! Which is why I am recommending it for my Gift Guide this year!

  1. weirdest thing I've ever seen in person? Hmm that's a good question. I visited a Ripley's museum in Texas and they had a real shrunken head

  4. Nothing to weird I suppose. I was at a concert once where they had side performers with body piercings / hooks to lift bricks and stuff. It was pretty neat.

  8. I'm not sure if it's weird but both my daughters (2 and 5) both have 2 hair whorls on their heads at the back. They say having more than 1 hair whorl is not that common and both of them have 2 each. :)
