Gatlinburg Fun For The Family!

I am sure you all have seen me mention that my husband and I had the chance to go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee! We were there to celebrate two years of marriage. You can check out our review of the resort we stayed at here. Pigeon Forge is a beautiful place as well as Gatlinburg. This time of year  is just beautiful! Gatlinburg is nestled at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in America. There are three entrances into the Smokies right from downtown. Gatlinburg attracts more than eleven million visitors a year and can grow to a population of 40,000-plus on any givennight. This little town of 3,944 residents is dedicated to welcoming all of its guests with a taste of Appalachian hospitality at its best. Folks come from all over the world for vacations, outdoor adventures, family fun and memory making. Gatlinburg is one of America's great mountain resort destinations, with accommodations of every kind, dozens of local-to-national restaurants, and attractions galore – all nestled in the foothills and surrounded on three sides by the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. Gatlinburg prides itself on its walkability amidst mountain heritage and the arts, crafts and shops that reflect that tradition.
There were a ton of things to do in Gatlinburg! If you like haunted attractions, this Haunted Show is realistic and will spook you!
One complaint I had was it is $6.99 a piece and only a 6 minute show. It was cute, but I have to say pricy. I think they should add more time to the show- that is just me though! As you can see, when the sun starts going down, it is beautiful! We also did the world of illusions.
Make your friends DISAPPEAR and REAPPEAR at your command! Stop a tornado with the wave of your hand! See Merlin the Wizard levitate right before your eyes! Join Ali Baba’s Genie who is trapped inside a glass bottle! You’ll be amazed with the endless collection of grand illusions, mystifying magic and interactive exhibits.

So many tourists and things to do for the entire family!
We also did this Earthquake attraction, it was neat! You get to sit inside of a train and experience what a real earthquake would be like in a subway. They had so many effects. It did seem completely realistic. Your seat moves and everything. It was also expensive for the time you get, but this is something you won't see elsewhere so it was worth the money! We went to the Ole Smoky Holler and purchased some moonshine too! When Tennessee state law changed to allow the distillation of spirits, they saw an opportunity to showcase the art of superior mountain-made moonshine. Ole Smoky is the first federally licensed distillery in the history of East Tennessee.
They had a ton of flavors to choose from! We chose Apple Pie! Let me tell you- this has a kick to it! lol It is also 40 proof. Tastes like candy after you get that initial "kick" after drinking it.
My husband had an experience that we will never forget. We had a blast and made memories for a lifetime! I love my husband so much! I can't wait to go back and have more fun with him! Check out all of the attractions and see what you can do when you plan your trip! Search my blog for other things we did in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge too! You can also keep an eye out for special events they have going on.
