Breastfeeding is an intimidating topic for me. I am about to give birth and I was on the search for the best of the best when it came to a breast pump for this baby. I plan to pump and store and pump so that my husband can enjoy feeding our daughter as well. I ran across Motif Medical and I was excited because I spotted one of their newest products. If you haven't heard of Motif Medical, Motif was started by a team of medical professionals, engineers, and working mothers who wanted to improve breast pump design, provide coverage through insurance, and upgrade the experience of obtaining supplies.

Motif has a new pump called the Motif Luna. I was stoked to learn more about it. This pump was the subject of a comparison test recently conducted with C+R Research. Participants were moms who used one of the leading competitive brands at the time of testing and the Luna. They found that 5 out of 6 moms got more milk in less time with the Luna, and 9 out of 10 moms preferred the Luna over their current pump. For most participants, using the Luna made the pumping process more enjoyable, empowering, and less of a chore. Many women in the test were compelled to keep using Luna instead of their previous pump.

I received my pump and I wanted to open it and get familuar with it seeing as I am due in a few weeks. The Motif Luna has such a sleek design. Check out everything it comes with in the box. What is included in the box?
  • 2 – 24mm Breast Shields
  • 2 – Silicone Valves
  • 2 – Backflow Protectors
  • 2 – Tubing
  • 2 – Milk Collection Containers
  • 2 – Milk Collection Container Caps
  • 2 – Milk Collection Container Covers
  • 2 – Milk Collection Container Disks
  • 2 – Bottle Nipples
  • 1 – Power Adapter
I love the cute little bottles that it comes with!

Check out how cute the unit is! One of the features about this product is that it has a  quiet 45-decibel hum that won’t wake your baby. It is also only 2 lbs in weight! Perfect to put in the diaperbag.

Not only does this pump come with a back lit LED screen, but it has a built-in LED night light with three different settings. Perfect for pumping while your baby is sleeping. It also has auto shut-off turns the pump off after 30 minutes of use. You can single pump or double pump. It is totally up to you and what you need at the moment.

It has two modes. Massage mode helps stimulate let-down by mimicking a baby’s nursing pattern and Expression mode works to express milk from the breast as efficiently as possible.

The breast shield is built for comfort. This pump also comes with a closed system ! This backflow prevention keeps the motor and tubing clean, preventing contamination.

You can set your pump to a setting you like and it will rember it the next time you turn on the unit. I think that is just fabulous! Want one?

Do you have insurance? The Affordable Care Act now requires health insurance plans to cover breastfeeding supplies and support. However, plans may differ in the type of equipment and benefits offered. Use the Motif Insurance Locator to see if the Luna is available through your insurance.

Don't fret if you can't find it on your insurance because the pump is on AMAZON for the special price of $189! WHAT?! That is a steal. GET IT HERE. Don't forget to register your pump. The Motif Luna comes with a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty for the main pump and a 90-day warranty for the components. You can also purchase a replacement set of breast shields HERE for $14 on Amazon.
