I don't know about you but I love it when I get sucked into a good magazine. I love it when I find various topics to read and ideas to re-create! All You Magazine has to be one of the best for women to read, hands down. This magazine has ideas that are realistic, and recipes that are budget friendly and SIMPLE to recreate! Another thing that I love about this magazine is the money saving coupons! With how the economy is now days,  it is so important to save and budget! It will be worth it in the long run. All you is no longer just available at Walmart! I was able to score my issue at Kroger! The magazine can be purchase for $2.99 but let me tell you, the money saving coupons for July are worth over $30 total so you are pretty much getting your money's worth!  Not only do they have these coupons but this month's issue also highlights beauty tips, health home and more! Check out All You and see where you can find your issue this month.
I was so excited when I found it on the shelf! I just had to grab myself a copy!

When getting sucked into reading the magazine at Kroger, I decided to purchase some items for a recipe that I just HAD to try! Can you take a guess at what I decided to cook?
I chose to whip up the recipe I found in the All You Magazine for "Cheese Tortellini With Fresh Tomato Sauce"! One of the reasons that I chose to cook this recipe was it serves 6 and is ONLY $1.68 per serving! How cool is that? See?! I told you that they are budget friendly. I am going to take you step by step on how to make this awesome entree! Prep Time for this recipe is only 15 minutes and cook time is about 15 minutes as well.
What you need:
  • Salt (not pictured)
  • 1- 20 oz package refrigerated or frozen three-cheese tortellini. [I chose to get the mixed cheese instead]
  • 1/4 Cup of Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Onion, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, thinly sliced. ( I chose to chop mine)
  • 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
  • 4 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup sliced pitted kalamanta olives
  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
What to do:
  • Step 1- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and throw in your pasta! Cook pasta until it is tender. It typically takes 8 minutes if you bought it refrigerated and about 12-15 if you bought it frozen.
  • Step 2- Chop up half of an onion and measure out 1/2 tsp of crushed red pepper. Thinly slice the three cloves of garlic or you can chop them like I chose to do.
  •  Step 2.2- Take 2 tbsp. of your olive oil from the 1/4 cup that you measured out and put it in your pan and suttee the onion, red pepper and garlic over medium heat until onions are tender. This should take about 6 minutes.. your pasta should still be boiling by now too.

  • Step 2.3 Remove the onion mixture from heat and add in your 4 large chopped tomatoes and your 1/2 cup of pitted kalamanta olives! Mix well!!
  • Step 3- Chop up that 2 tbsp. of Thyme that I mentioned in the beginning of the post. Grab yourself a large bowl or you can use the pot that you boiled your pasta in.
  • Step 3.2 - Mix your tortellini, the fresh tomato sauce with the olives you just made, thyme you just chopped up and the remaning olive oil and 1/2 tsp of salt! Gently toss and you are done!!
Does this not look amazing? It is so delicious and light on your stomach! This is something that I stepped out of the box to make for my husband and I and he loved it as much, if not more than I did! The thyme makes a huge difference on how it tastes too. It is so odd how the smallest things change a recipe! Overall, I am thrilled that I found this recipe in All You because my family now has a new favorite meal!
So what do you say? Are you going to go grab yourself a copy of All You?

I'd love to try the recipe, and for around $10 for everybody, not just 1 person, is great!

  5. I've always found the idea of making fresh tomato sauce daunting. This looks really easy and fresh. Pasta is my weakness, so this is right up my alley.
