By reading the title of the post, if you haven't already heard about these awesome HEXBUG toys, you are in for a surprise! Want to know more about them? Read Below!
By leveraging our robotics expertise, Innovation First entered the toy industry in 2007 with the launch of the HEXBUG Micro Robotic Creatures product line. HEXBUG was designed to give children a positive experience with robotics at a young age. Our passion for robotics, as demonstrated by our VEX Robotics program, was the main catalyst fueling HEXBUG's inception. Hence, the brand was born! People are drawn to the HEXBUG brand for our products’ fascinating behavior, intelligent bug-like attributes and eye-catching packaging. Some of the products are so animated, they even fool cats, dogs and some humans into thinking they are alive!
HEXBUG® is a product line developed by Innovation First Inc., and distributed and marketed by Innovation First Labs, Inc., both wholly owned subsidiaries of privately held Innovation First International, Inc. The company was founded on the belief that innovation very early in the design process is necessary to produce simple and elegant product designs. Innovation First began developing electronics for unmanned mobile ground robots and is now an industry leader in research and development for the hobby, competition, education and toy markets.
HEXBUG is designed to give children a positive experience with robotics at a young age, and foster an interest and understanding for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). HEXBUG Micro Robotic Creatures include a variety of autonomous and remote-controlled robotic bugs that are adored by kids and adults alike. Each has its own unique skills and characteristics. I recently had the chance to review one of their newer items, HEXBUG Nano V2 Black Hole
These little creatures are really neat! They are also safe for ages 3 and up!
There is a tiny on/off switch at the bottom of each creature, with a small screw to replace your battery. Each Nano V2 comes with one button cell battery AG13 (LR44). I like this feature so that little kids can't just open it up and it prevents a choking hazard. This new breed of gravity defying Nano V2 bugs can now climb up vertically, horizontally, around corners, through loops and tubes, to the tip top of any Nano V2 habitat set. The Black Hole enables Nano V2 super-fans to customize the design and layout of the three-story set, unleashing kids’ creativity.
I love the spiral tube accessory for the Nano V2 to climb through, and Nano V2 can free fall from one of the tubes through the black funnel, emerging out of one of three exits! What is included? 2 Nano V2 bugs, 1 spiral tube, 1 crow’s nest, 1 funnel , 2 straight tubes, 9 curved tubes, 3 curved Y tubes , 20 connectors, 6 stand-offs, 2 HEX cell bases plus removable walls & gates, 4 curved tracks, 8 fixed pegs  & 4 rotating flags. The 58 piece set makes it easy to let your childs imagination run wild! You can purchase HEXBUG Nano V2 Black Hole for only $49.99 on the HEXBUG website!  I do know that they also carry them at Target and Toys R Us! Visit a retailer near you to see if they carry them! Overall, I love the concept of the product and I love how they are designed to give children a positive experience! I am recommending HEXBUGS for my Holiday gift Guide this year too! This will make any little boys (or girls) day nothing but fun!
