Birchbox February 2014 Review

by Bre, 3:57 AM
The Small Things has had the chance to feature a monthly subscription box that brings you high deluxe samples every month. Each month, Birchbox subscribers will receive 4-5 samples that span across categories. You will more than likely receive life changing hair treatments, trendy nail lacquers and addicting scents. Another awesome thing about them is there are men's boxes and women's! The women’s subscription includes everything from skincare to makeup, as well as fun non-beauty extras. The men’s subscription delivers top-tier grooming products in addition to lifestyle accessories ranging from hip socks to tech accessories. Check out the ever-growing list of products in their Women’s Shop and Men’s Shop. After you have tried your samples in your  box, you can head over to the Birchbox website and purchase a full sized version! I love the fact that you don't have to search the entire internet looking for that one specific product that you feel in love with. I received a welcome box and February 2014 subscription box.
What was in the first box? I received the following:
  • Dr. Brandt- Pores No More Pore Refiner- This celeb favorite minimizes pores and absorbs oil for a photo-ready matte finish! You just apply a think layer under makeup or use as a primer. You can purchase the full sized sample for $45
  • I also received Color Club- Top Shelf . This nail lacquer is beautiful. It gives your nails a gorgeous color. It is available for only $8!
  • Another item in the box was the Beauty Protector- Protect & Oil. This oil protects and defends against UV rays, heat and breakage! You just work 1-3 drops in damp hair. You can purchase a full size for $21.95
  • The perfume that came in this box is Joie- Folle de Joie eau de parfum. It has blends of mandarin, rose and sandalwood. You can purchase a full sized version for $98!
  • The last product in the welcome box that I received was Mally Beauty- Evercolor Starlight Watercolor Eyeliner In Sailor. This eyeliner is very pigmented and goes on like gel. It is a gorgeous color! This is available in 5 different colors and can be purchased for $15!

The February box- Step And Repeat box that I received had two of the same samples that the other box had. I was disappointed to see this because I would have liked a variety. The items in this box are below. My favorite was the nail polish. Read to see why!
  • Dr. Brandt- Pores No More Pore Refiner- This celeb favorite minimizes pores and absorbs oil for a photo-ready matte finish! You just apply a think layer under makeup or use as a primer. You can purchase the full sized sample for $45
  •  Beauty Protector- Protect & Oil. This oil protects and defends against UV rays, heat and breakage! You just work 1-3 drops in damp hair. You can purchase a full size for $21.95
  • Juicy Couture Couture La La Malibu-  This smells amazing! It is a breezy SoCal inspired scent that mingles with sparkling mandarin and pink sugar! You can purchase the full sized for $72. Just a HINT for my husband.. if he sees this.. HINT.. =]
  • Ruby Wing- Color Changing Polish in Kitten Heels. This polish goes from hot fuchsia to a deep magenta in the sun! Very gorgeous if you ask me!! You can buy it for only $10! There are 6 different polishes available on the Birchbox website. check it out.
  • The last product was a Lifestyle Extra- Effervescent Breath Crystals With IsoVoxy. I received peppermint flavor. I don't like peppermint so I gave these to my husband and he liked it! You swish them in your mouth with saliva and when they begin to pop ( like pop rocks) you will know they are working. A full size can be purchased starting at $10.
