It doesn't have to be costly. Keeping it simple will be one of the best decisions that you can make. You can also have fun while doing it. There are a ton of Downton Abbey gifts at World Market that you can purchase too! Keep reading to learn more! First of all, check out the photos from our simple party! You can score some ideas to have your own Downton Abbey Party, too!
A tea party is not complete without your Downton Abbey Teapot. In my hand, I am holding Downton Abbey Teacups & Saucers. I am wearing the Downton Abbey Mrs Patmore Apron too!
I also wanted to give an amazing shout out to The Republic Of Tea. They were kind enough to make it possible to provide all of the tea needed for our party! You can see all of their tea via the World Market Website!
A tea party is not complete without my new Downton Abbey 2-Tier Serving Stand. I also purchased this Downton Abbey Luxury Assorted Shortbread Tin and Downton Abbey Stem Ginger Fruitcake to go with our tea. Did you know they also make Lemon Curd, Christmas Preserves and Blackcurrant Jam? Oh so delicious!
How adorable are these napkins? These Downton Abbey Fig Beverage Napkins are too cute for words. I was also able to find these Downton Abbey Plates, as well as the cute Downton Abbey Sugar Bowl and Creamer Set
I fell in love with the Downton Abbey Crest Napkins. I thought they were the cutest As you can see, my setup is quite simple and cute! Speaking of Blackcurrant Jam, I made cupcakes with this jam! They were SO DELICIOUS! I want to share my recipe with you!
What you need to make these cupcakes:
For The Cupcakes:
  • Gold And Silver Cupcake Liners
  • 1¾ cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F
  2. Grab a large mixing bowl and add the following: In a large mixing bowl, stir together baking soda, salt, flour and baking powder. Stir until everything is blended!
  3. Grab your mixer bowl (or another bowl if you do not have one) and combine eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat with the paddle attachment in your mixer, until it gets fluffy.
  4. While the mixer is running, alternate dry ingredients and milk until everything is smooth and there are no lumps.
  5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean! Cool for 10 minutes
  6. Let cool and add frosting.
Frosting

  1. Use whisk attachment. Cream butter and slowly add powdered sugar until mixed.
  2. Add your 1/2 jar of blackcurrant jam.
  3. If too thick, add a few tsp of milk until you get the consistency you want.
  4. Top your cupcakes with frosting and sprinkle crumbled shortbread on top.
  5. Enjoy!
These cupcakes are so delicious! They will be the highlight of your party!
