More than one in five children and more than one in four Latino children in the U.S. may not know where their next meal is coming from. That’s more than 15 million children. ConAgra aims to empower a community of people to help change the realities of hunger one meal at a time with a goal to donate one million meals to food insecure kids in 2016 through the Child Hunger Ends Here program.  I am so excited to share with you an event that I was able to attend to help fight hunger.
Kid President (aka Robby Novak & Brad Montague) were in their home state of Tennessee to help fight child hunger! I was late to the event, but I was so thrilled to see what I did and learn more about this cause!

Robby and Brad addressed what they were here for- and it was to fight child hunger. It is such a sad topic. Knowing that kids in our community were suffering child hunger just breaks my heart to pieces.

While Robby was here- he helped ConAgra present a check to Feeding America based on the number of meals triggered from Kid President’s video views and shares. By watching and sharing this video, one meal was donated from ConAgra to Feeding America, up to 100,000 meals, a goal surpassed in less than one week.

While Robby was here- we were able to join him in assembling food packs for children in the local community.

What Robby did was just amazing. I love how inspirational that this child is. This is another reason that I do not mind my 9 year old watching his videos! I honestly knew that child hunger was an issue- but I did not know how bad it was. It was such an emotional moment watching volunteers and other kids helping assemble food packs for the children in the community. This is just another reason to not take things for granted.
How can you help?
Everyone can easily participate by going to their favorite retailer and looking for the red pushpin and code on specially marked packages of ConAgra’s food, like Marie Callender’s® and Hunt’s®, at your favorite retailer or in your pantry. For each eight-digit code entered at www.childhungerendshere.com from January 2016 through January 2017, ConAgra will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America, up to one million meals.
Make a difference and help today. You can also call your local food bank to see how you can help! Visit Child Hunger Ends Here on their social channels to stay up to date with the latest!
