Nothing can be more exciting than preparing for a beach holiday. Besides unstoppable fun, the best thing about beach trips is that it’s easier to pack stuff: grab a few t-shirts, a swimsuit, and those funky flip-flops and you’re good to go! But you can’t wear the same clothing and accessories in a winter beach trip.

No matter how tempting the screaming waves and the cloudy skies may seem as seen here, the chilly weather makes it impossible to keep your toes and shoulders bare. However, the good news is that you can still look cool, stay warm, and enjoy your winter beach holiday by wearing clothing that’s appropriate for winters.

Not sure exactly how?

Here are a few tips.

  1. Put On Some Layers Without Overdoing It

Layering isn’t preferred for summers only. Even when you’re near the seaside, notice how it gets slightly chilly as the sun sets. Naturally, the temperature further goes down in winter beaches. That’s when you need layering the most.

Here’s how to do this: choose a sleeveless knitted top and protect your shoulders from the chilly winds by wearing a Wear Saga fleece jacket. While doing the mix-and-match, apply your creative skills: which color of the fleece jacket will go with the top? How about wearing a turquoise top with a blue jacket? The options are endless.

Pair it up with denim pants and you’re ready for the winter beach vacation!

2. Choose Bright Colors

There is one thing you can consider in both winter and summer beach wear: bright colors. Splashy patterns and bold colors always reflect the charm of a beach holiday. So, why not bring back that beach party look by adding some lively colors to your winter outfit?

If you feel like trying something different other than your denim pants, wear a long skirt. Besides adding glamor to your personality, a long skirt will protect your legs from the freezing winds. While choosing a bright color for the skirt, choose yellow as it will bring back the charm of summer beach holidays.

3. Wear Boots

While sneakers and boat shoes are perfect on warmer beaches, be extra careful while heading to a winter beach because the feet are the first body part that may catch a cold.

To make the entire beach trip comfortable, keep your feet warm by wearing rain boots with polyester or wool socks. Another option is to wear running shoes or hiking boots so you can walk on the beach without your bare feet touching the cold sand.

4. Stay Warm With The Right Accessories

If you’ve chosen a bright attire for the trip, you’re already ready to hit the beach! This also means that there isn’t an additional need for choosing accessories with popping colors. A brown wool hat paired with brown gloves will complete the look.

If you’re one of those who never goes outside without considering extra weather protection, grab a scarf and wrap it around the neck. If the winds are strong, you can also cover your mouth and chin with it. Want to add a bit of style to it? Try out different styles to tie a scarf and choose the best one accordingly.

5. Wear Sunglasses And Sunscreen

Wondering what’s the combination between a winter beach vacation and sun protection? Well, the sun sets lower in winters which means that there are higher chances that your eyes and skin will be exposed to the harmful rays of the sun. While enjoying the ocean breeze, you should ensure maximum sun protection.

To do this, consider these points:

  • Wear sunglasses that provide at least 99% UVB and UVA protection to your eyes.
  • Before buying a sun block, ask your dermatologist about the SPF that suits your skin type the most.
