DISCLOSURE: I am a member of the Tennessee State Fair's blogger outreach program and received complimentary tickets to facilitate this post.
The Ferris wheel! It's that time of year again! Kids are all heading back to school and we are finally getting ourselves back into a somewhat "normal" routine. Grocery lists have shrunk enabling us to put a little money back for the Tennessee State Fair! We have made the state fair a family event for as long as I can remember and it just gets better every year! Did you know the Tennessee State Fair has been held every year (with the exception of the 4 year span during World War II) since 1906!! The fair has entertained Tennessee families for more than 100 years. It attracts more than 230,000 visitors annually. There are some big things going on this year including the Tennessee Two-Crust Apple Pie Contest, Hendrick's Racing Pigs, tons of livestock events, live music daily, and of course the rides, you know that's really why you go to the fair or is it the food?!
The Fair is boasting their world famous fried Goo-Goo cluster, a local delicacy. You MUST try it! Of course they will have all your all time faves... funnel cakes, cotton candy, corn dogs and every other yummy thing you can think of. I am totally excited to go and get a funnel cake! Who doesn't want a funnel cake at the fair? My husband and I are so excited to have a fun day to let loose and enjoy ourselves!  I am also excited about the beauty pageant. Check out their easy to use scheduler and plan your family's day at the fair today! Admission ticket prices are listed below if you are curious:
  • On-Site Tickets – Available During the Fair Admission Tickets Adults (19-54): $8
  • Youth (3-18): $6 Seniors (55+): $6
  • 2 & Under: Free
*Bring any non-winning Tennessee Lottery ticket to the gate to receive $2 off one adult admission. (Ask a friend for one if you don't have one! We have plenty! hehe)*
You can also purchase your tickets online, on site, or at participating Kroger locations. Personally, I would prefer to purchase before getting there so you don't have to wait in a long line when you arrive.
Don't forget your unlimited ride wristband for only $25!!! Check out all of the rides!  The price is TOTALLY worth the money!  The Fair starts Friday September 6th and wraps up Sunday September 15th! This gives you plenty of days to plan some fun!
Check them out on their social media too! Tweet or Facebook about it! Let everyone know you are having a blast!
Will you be going? Let me know in the comments, I would love to meet up! It is nice to put a face with a readers name!

  1. We did not have the funds to go to the fair this year hopefully next year. There are so many to choose from in So Cal.
