Disclosure: The Small Things received an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles with Disney to cover the premier of Finding Dory and a press junket. All opinions are 100% my own and were not swayed in any way.

As many of you all know, I was invited to LA to the Red Carpet World Premier of Finding Dory. We had many opportunities to interview, those include Ellen DeGeneres and Ed O'Neill, and several more than you will see in the coming weeks and more. We also had a chance to interview the gorgeous and amazing Kaitlin Olson. She is known for her role in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Kaitlin came into the room and you could just get the vibe that she is the sweetest! She is the voice if Destiny in Finding Dory! Destiny is a whale shark and Dory's childhood friend.

When I had said that Finding Dory has many emotions involved- I wasn't kidding. Our interview started with the question being asked if her kids had seen the movie yet! Her youngest did not like the scary squid that you will see in the movie, however her oldest loved it!
What is her favorite scene? " I liked all of the scenes with Tiny Dory". When you see this movie, you will understand why! She is just adorable! "Little baby Dory was so cute, her voice, I was like get out of here."

We also learned that she does not speak whale as often as possible. One of the bloggers had asked if her kids enjoyed speaking whale to them. I don't really blame her that she doesn't. I am sure she gets asked often. She did say when recording that she had to do is SO much and her kids haven't asked her just yet.

Why was it important for you to take on this role? What attracted you to it?
She said that Pixar movies are amazing, and they are really truly are her favorite, kids movies. She also said they are amazing movies and that they are sweet- and have good messages. She took on the role before she found out what kind of character she was going to be. She was excited for a kids movie because has a role on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and it is for adults.

The question came along asking:
What lesson about friendship does Destiny's and Dory's relationship relate to kids and adults as well?"Well working together for one thing and that you- family is really what you make of it. If you don't have one, you can create one with good people around you, which is really amazing." She also said that "Just Keep Swimming" is really wonderful because nobody has a perfect life, nobody is perfect and that's okay.
That is a great message with this movie and I hope that my  9 year old can take from that. We learned that Kaitlin is dealing with something similar because her son is a perfectionist. We all can relate in one way or another. I think it is great!

We also learned that her scenes with Ty Burell (Bailey) were recorded with him and alone. She had nothing but kind words to say about him too. Someone also asked:
Other than Little Dory, who is your favorite character and why? Her response: She and her sons really love the seal and the sea lion who are screaming all the time. Becky and Gerald were her other favorites!
When you see the movie, you will understand why. SO FUNNY! We learned that she was in recording for quite sometime! "I probably did eight or nine sessions over four years." Wow just amazing if you ask me. "It was great, because you go in and you have this great fun day and then you have like a month off and then they send you a new script and it's different and things have changed and the character is changed and, um, you get to go back in and do it again."
She was also asked: Were there other challenges that you came across? It sounded like having someone else to read with you-. Her reply: Destiny being a bad swimmer. It came through in the middle of the process. "He wanted me to like sound wobbly- like I was having a hard time swimming so they got me this weird like balance board thing that he wanted me to stand on."

If you were wondering- no she did not train to speak whale. If you really try- anyone can speak it! She is also an amazing mom. Why do I say that? Check out this question and reply and you tell me!
"You mention showing your kids, this is what mommy does for work, how do you balance being a parent with your career." Her reply: "My kids are one hundred percent my priority, so I don't take things that will take me away from them too much." She also agreed to a pilot she is shooting next year and she wanted to produce so that she has a little more control over the schedule so that she can be there for bedtime! She rarely goes a day without seeing them too.
She had said "I have the luxury of being able to have them come to me after school and play in my trailer and I can't always hang out with them, because I'm working, but at least they're close." I just adore her for this! I loved this interview because it did not seem like your typical interview. Just a bunch of working moms chatting! An interview is not complete without a group photo!
As you can see, I am sitting next to her in this one! I was thrilled! Don't forget, Disney•Pixar's “Finding Dory” will officially be swimming in theaters June 17, 2016!
