I am a huge fan of Cost Plus World Market. They always have the nicest products that you can't usually find elsewhere. We moved to our new place in June, and our dining area needed to have something in it. It was bare. The dining area is a small "nook" area in the kitchen. I knew that Cost Plus World Market had everything I needed to make this space have a pop of color, and give it more of a welcoming feel. I decided to do a wall gallery. I remembered that Cost Plus World Market had the red items in store. I mean, before moving, I did buy the entire red mason jar collection, I am obsessed with shopping there!
About wall galleries- Wall galleries are not hard to do, you can plan ahead, or go with the flow. There is no real RULE on how you should do it. I have a small one in my living room but I was nervous about tackling one this big! I had confidence in myself that I could do it. That is one tip that I encourage you to have first! Be confident! I headed online and browsed to get an idea of what I wanted, and then headed to the store to shop. When I got to the store, I had to re-do my initial "game plan" because they did not have the first clock that I wanted, as well as a sign and mirror and I was on a time crunch. I found other items to replace what I had initially chosen. They had so many wall decor products to choose from.
When I got home with my items, I decided to lay them on the floor so that I can choose where I wanted items to go.
This is by far the easiest way that you can plan on where to place what. Originally, I was going to place the word EAT above, but I seen that small wall to the right and it was meant to be! When you get ready to hang and get an idea of where you want what, grab a piece of paper, and mark where your holes are on your wall hanging. This is so that you can be accurate on where to put it on the wall. I placed the top of the paper on the letter so that I could see how far of a space that there was between the top and the holes. I then marked my holes, taped it, used a level to see if it was even and taped it again, and then made my holes so that I can rip the paper down and hang easily. See what I mean in the photo below.
I did the same for everything. On the main wall, I did this and hung the clock first. I wanted the clock to be the main focal point of the wall.
Another thing that I loved was watching this video from Elizabeth Mayhew on creating a gallery wall.
I started with the clock first and worked my way around it. I am so thrilled with my end result. It only took me two hours, but that was because I wanted it to look perfect and I had to keep getting up and down from a chair, and I kept using the level.
When I was done, it turned out to be everything that I wanted the small space to be! It was perfect!
All of the color goes perfect with my kitchen!
I am thrilled to have a conversation piece in my kitchen and I am thrilled that I was able to do this with the help of Cost Plus World Market!

  28. Great idea to have a main focal point, like your clock, and then arrange the other item aroind it. It made your little kitchen nook area look so warm, inviting, and I must say appear bigger. Even though its the same size, love what you choose to decorate your wall art with.
