We now live in the age of the Internet, where ideas, like coupons in paper form, now seem like an outdated concept and have been, instead, spun into a new idea, to adhere to this new age we live in.  There were times where clipping coupons simply meant running across them in your local newspaper, cutting them out and bringing them to the store with you.

Now, however, things have changed and the process of using coupons has shifted to doing so through online shopping.  If this new spin on a standardized idea is new to you, or if you’re looking to know more about buying online with coupon codes, you can learn all you need to know in seven easy steps!

1. Vendor First
The first step is to find a coupon code for the online store or vendor you want to buy from.  At times, it could even mean finding a code for a specific item you’re looking to buy. Both options are possible and follow, essentially, the same process.

 2. Discount Specific Similar to coupons in paper form, from the past, there are many different deal opportunities available on https://www.couponcodeday.com/.  It could be things like buy 1 get 1 free, a specific percentage off your total shopping bill or a set dollar discount price, just to name a few.  Your best bet is to first look at physical coupons from magazines or newspapers, just like you would’ve done before Internet shopping.

3. Hard Copy

Physical coupons have two options: one where you can use the savings in store and also a specific code you can use for the same store options, but online.  These types of coupons are quite common so definitely don’t write off a coupon in physical form until you’ve checked it over for an online buying option!

4. Googling

Your other option is to use a search engine, like Google, to track down the coupon code you’re after.  For example, simply log on to Google, and type exactly what you’re looking for into the search bar. Make sure to include things like “promo code,” “coupon code,” “discount code,” and then the specific store you want to buy from.  You could also do a search with the different coupon phrases and follow it up with a specific item you want to buy. Both types of searches often yield positive results.

5. Coupon Generators
If this first option doesn’t produce the results you want, you should then try searching through websites that specifically provide coupons!  Coupon generating sites allow for you to skim through hundreds and thousands of different coupons. Examples of these sites are coupons.com or savings.com!  Simply go to the websites and explore to find what you’re looking for.

Once you have the coupon code you’re looking for, you can now begin shopping and saving!  To begin, access the online store you want to purchase from and select the items you want to buy, just like you would shop any other time.  Then, once you have decided what you want to buy, be sure to add it to your online shopping “cart” or “bag.” Once you’ve completed this, move ahead as you normally would in the purchase process by going directly to your “cart” or “bag” to view the items.  Double check the items in your cart, to ensure they’re specifically what you want and then click “purchase.”

You will then be taken to a new page, where a summary of your purchases and their prices will be listed.  Now, you will want to locate a small box that is labeled “promo code,” “coupon code,” or something similar.  Usually this box is located near the final “checkout” or “purchase” button. Fill in the box with the code you have and double check to make sure you’ve entered the code properly.

Finally, after entering the coupon code, you should either be taken to a new, updated page, where your savings are displayed, and the grand total of your items has been adjusted, or, the page you were in before will adjust your saving and display a new grand total.  Make sure you check for your savings and that the coupon code has worked correctly. Then, press “purchase” or “checkout” one last time and you’re finished!

Ultimately, after following these simple steps, you’ll be able to find coupon codes and use them to successfully save money while shopping online!  Enjoy your savings!
